Our Adult Breeding Cats
At Siratsa Cats, our adult breeding cats are the cornerstone of our program and the reason our kittens are recognised for their structure, temperament, and consistency across generations.
As established Scottish Fold and Scottish Shorthair breeders in Australia, we carefully select and maintain a small, purpose-driven group of adult cats chosen for health, conformation, temperament, and long-term genetic integrity. Our program is deliberately limited in size so every adult cat lives a calm, enriched life as a valued member of our home, never as part of a high-volume breeding operation.
Pioneers of Russian Scottish Bloodlines in Australia
In 2015, Siratsa Cats became the first cattery to import Russian Scottish lines into Australia. This landmark decision significantly expanded genetic diversity and raised the benchmark for Scottish Fold and Scottish Shorthair breeding not only in Australia, but throughout South-East Asia.
These Russian lines introduced superior balance, improved structure, stable temperaments, and refined breed type at a time when such bloodlines were unavailable in our region. Their impact continues to be seen today across numerous breeding programs that trace back to our original imports, and dozens of Siratsa pedigreed cats throughout other breeders cats in Australia.
Home-Raised, Health-Focused, Welfare First
All of our adult breeding cats are raised and maintained in a genuine home environment. Daily human interaction, routine, space, and emotional security are central to their wellbeing and to the confident nature of the kittens they produce.
Health and welfare are non-negotiable at Siratsa. Our adult cats are:
- carefully monitored for physical and emotional wellbeing
- managed in line with veterinary advice and recognised best-practice breeding standards
- given appropriate rest periods between litters
- retired early when it is in their best interests
Retirement & Lifelong Responsibility
When a breeding cat retires, their future is thoughtfully planned. Some remain with us for life; others are placed into carefully selected companion homes where they can enjoy a relaxed, loved retirement.
We believe exceptional Scottish Fold and Scottish Shorthair kittens can only come from exceptional adults. Our approach reflects our core philosophy: ethical breeding, long-term responsibility, and leadership through integrity rather than volume.
